Farooq Awan Deputed as Acting Secretary MoITT

Farooq Ahmed Awan has been deputed as Acting Secretary for Ministry of Information and Technology and Telecommunication (MoITT) recently by the federal government.

He has replaced Saeed Ahmed Khan, who served the ministry nearly one year and presently on his way to retire in next few months from government services.

Farooq Ahmed will be third person who has been deputed in MoITT as secretary in the three and half years of the ruling government regime.

Before him, Saeed Ahmed Khan, Abdur Rauf, and Nagiubullah Malik also served as secretary MoITT.

Federal Secretary of MoITT is also the chairman of PTCL board. He supervises autonomous departments under the ministry such as Electronic Government Directorate (EGD), National Telecommunication Corporation (NTC), Telecommunications Foundation (TF), Special Telecommunications Organization (SCO), Virtual University (V.U), Electronic Certification Accreditation Council, USF Co and ICT R&D Co.
